Use these tips to get your organising off to a flying start!
Painting the walls, ceiling and floor would be a great way to stop brick dust getting on things stored there, and also will brighten the room considerably, making it a nicer place to be in. I would advise painting it all white as then you can see everything more easily.
Ensure any storage that you use is fit for purpose - as most things stored in a garage can be heavy - such as paint tins - so you want sturdy shelving and/or racks
Utilise hooks on a wall to hang brooms and tools etc... off the floor - making it easier to find things and easier to clean.
Drawr around tools on the wall where they hang - this will make it so much easier to know whats missing, and where things go
Store frequently used items by the door such as bikes and BBQs - and less frequent out of the way - this will save lots of time!
Hang bikes up on hooks or specialist racks - keeps them out of the way and stops them from falling over when you walk past them
Up and over garage doors restrict the space available for storing items - so consider adding in a roller door or normal garage doors.
Have your garage door on a remote control - this will save time when you drive into your garage, especially useful when its raining!
Don't let the garage become a dumping ground for anything that you don't want in the house - but that "may be useful one day" - you will just end up with a roofull of items that you rarely use, and an expensive waste of space.
