Tips to Get your Handbag and Purse organised today!
Use these tips to get your organising off to a flying start!
Firstly, take out everything and lay it out so that you can see exactly what you have - then bin all the rubbish - you will surprised at how much is there!
Get your receipts organised - you shouldn't keep them all in your purase - try and keep only the ones you need to, and transfer them to a file in the house if they are needed for records or to check against your bank statement
Only keep in your handbag and purse whats vital - the last thing you want is to have to drag around half your possessions! - be ruthless. If you think you need a lot, try this exercise - write down everything you actually use in a week from your bag / purse - everything else really isn't necessary
Only keep some loose change in your purse as it will weigh it down. Start a pot at home to collect loose coins and it will soon add up - you can then have a treat or pay for a holiday etc.... Also keep some change in your car for emergencies and for tolls / car parks
What if your purse was stolen? make a list of all the cards you have in it - and what numbers you need to ring if it is stolen. This will make the whole process of cancelling and ordering new ones much less painful.
Conpartmentalise your purse and handbag so you can always see at a glance if anythings missing (useful if your children have a habit of playing with your cards etc...)
Always have a pen and a small notepad in your handbag to jot down info, ideas, numbers etc.. that you find whe you are out and about.
Ensure all your cards are up to date and get rid (securely) of any that aren't (or ones that aren't used anymore)
For card security try and use a different pin for each - if this is hard to remember, I suggest naming the cards as if a person, and hiding the pin within a phone number on your mobile phone i.e. VISA card could be for VERA ISANDA 01628 351 862 - but ensure that this is not easy to spot
If you change handbags a lot - make it as easy as possible (possibly use a handbag insert - see out shop for more details) or even get duplicates of items to keep in each one - or simply make it a habit to transfer everything to the bag you are using the next day the night before.
Always have a list of anything you need for you, family, the home etc.... - however random! and include any necessary details (budget, measurements...) then if you are out and you happen across things you will be able to make up your mind more easily and more accurately as to whether its worth purchasing - saving you having to come back. i.e. Hallway Unit - Dark Wood - max height 80cm, max depth 25cm, max width 100cm / A new pair of jeans size 14 blue / artwork for above sofa - max 100cm square with red and gold in it but mostly cream. These would all be things with no time limit - but are still wanted at some point (things with a time limit should be on your usual shopping list)
Have something in your bag to while away any free time (waiting at doctors, in queue at post office etc..) articles you want to read, or a magazine that you subscribe to - this will ensure you use the time to your best ability - But don't weigh yourself down!
Only have handbags you love, and you use, otherwise donate them as they need quite a lot of storage space. Also make sure that the bags that you do have are suitable for purpose - day bags need to have the right storage compartments for everything you need, evening bags can be smaller etc...
